成語：醇酒美人（CHUN JIU MEI REN）: Mellowed wine and rare beauties—leading a debauched life，or leading a depraved, degenerate life.
出處：史記，信陵君傳。
釋義：意志消沉，沉迷於酒色生活的人即可用醇酒美人來形容。
故事：戰國時代，有一次，趙國被秦國圍困，趙相平原君派人到魏國求援。魏王派大將軍晉鄙救趙。可是，大將軍尚未離境，秦國的使者便到了魏國，威脅魏王不得援助趙國，否則秦國就要攻打魏國。魏王不得不下命令給大將軍晉鄙，叫他按兵不動。平原君的求教信不斷飛來，敦促魏公子信陵君（魏王弟）促魏王出兵相救。魏王始終不肯。信陵君是位富正義之人，且平原君又是他的好友，所以就偷了魏王兵符，殺了大將軍晉鄙，領兵救了趙國。事成後，信陵君便定居趙國達十年之久。趙王和平原君夫婦對他都很禮遇。平原君之夫人是信陵君的姐姐。
後來秦軍圍攻魏國，信陵君聯合諸侯共同抵禦秦兵，秦兵大敗。可是，昏庸的魏王中了秦王之反間計，聽信奸臣的謠言並被秦王所散佈的謠言蠱惑，終於把信陵君免職。從此以後，信陵君不再上朝，也不去進謁魏王。他過著頹廢的生活，和朋友日夜飲烈酒，希望在沉醉中求解脫。終於在四年後因為酒精中毒而死亡。
用法：一個人中了特獎，變成一個土財主，由原來的平淡生活，突然變成天天過著“醇酒美人”的日子，他自以為 這一生有享受不盡的福，熟料， 因為飲酒過量必須天天洗腎，日子已經不多了。
故事英譯：During the Era of Warring States, once upon a time, when Kingdom Zhao was besieged by the troops of Kingdom Qin, Nobleman, the premier, Ping Yuan of Zhao sent an envoy to ask Kingdom Wei for rescuing. Then King of Wei gave an order to General Jin Bi to rescue Zhao. However, the General Jin Bi’s troops hadn’t yet left the border of Wei, the envoy of Qin had reached Wei’s court and threatened King of Wei that the armed forces must stop to rescue Zhao otherwise Qin will attack Wei.
King of Wei could not but give order to General Jin Bi, let him station within Wei’s territory. Anyway, Nobleman Ping Yuan’s ask-rescuing letters continuously reached the hands of Nobleman Xin Ling of Wei, a younger brother of King of Wei, to urge him to push the king for rescuing Zhao. However, King of Wei still had no action. Since Nobleman Xin Ling was a righteous gentleman and was also Nobleman Ping Yuan’s good friend, so he himself stole the military seal of the king of Wei and went to kill General Jin Bi and he himself led the Wei’s armed forces to rescue Zhao; he defeated the army of Qin, so Zhao was relieved. Nobleman Xin Ling settled down in Kingdom of Zhao and had resided there for 10 years . During staying in Zhao, King and queen of Zhao and Nobleman Ping Yuan treated Nobleman Xin Ling very politely and enthusiastically. Nobleman Ping Yuan’s wife was Nobleman Xin Ling’s elder sister.
Afterward, Qin sent troops to besiege Wei State, Nobleman Xin Ling united with other dukes and marquises to fight against Qin and defeated Qin’s armed forces. However, King of Wei was muddle-headed and was trapped in the stratagem of counterspy planned by King of Qin. Traitors in Wei’s court were bribed by King of Qin, and spread rumors of Nobleman Xin Ling, added slanderous talk about Nobleman Xin Ling, King of Wei distrusted Xin Ling and removed him from office. Since then, Nobleman Xin Ling didn’t go to court, and didn’t call on the king. He always led a debauched life with his friends day and night. He drank a lot of strong liquor, wanted to be relieved himself from drunk. Finally he died of alcohol intoxication four years later.
