出處：列子，湯問（周朝列禦寇著）。
釋義：意指歌聲美妙，令人久久不能忘懷。
故事： 戰國時代，韓國有位著名的歌手，名韓娥，她的歌聲有非常強烈的感染力，既能使人狂歡，又能使人落淚。有一次，韓娥發出一聲長有力的悲號，附近一里內的居民不管老少都悲愁落淚，三天不食。接著，韓娥又唱出愉快的歌聲，一里內的老老少少聽到了她的歌聲，立刻忘掉了悲傷，狂歡雀躍起來。
後來，韓娥去東邊的齊國旅遊，在齊國旅費花光了，不得不賣唱乞食。她一邊旅遊，一邊唱歌，所經之處，在她走後，一連三天，民眾都覺得她的歌聲餘音依然縈繞在樑間。
用法：想不到她初次登台獻唱，就表現出“餘音繞樑”的功力，真了不起。
故事英譯：During the Epoch of Warring Kingdoms, there was a famous singer of Kingdom Han, named Han O, whose singing had very strong influence, both cause people being ecstatic, and being to in tears. Once upon a time, Han O gave a long loud thrilling crying, all the people regardless of old and young within one mile limit were sad and burst into tears immediately, and didn’t eat for three days. Then, Han O started to sing a joyful song, all the people regardless old and young within the area of one mile forgot their sadness and cheered up ecstatically.
Afterward, Han O traveled to Kingdom Qi in the east and her money on the trip had been gong, she could not but be a minstrel-beggar for meeting her living. She sang songs from a place to a place， the people felt that after her leaving three days, her reverberating was still lingering in the air around the beams.
